GOLF

This Jack Nicklaus Signature Design, Par 72 Championship Golf Course presents a unique challenge to golfers of all skill levels. Every hole has an individual personality including numerous bunkers, large waste bunkers, plentiful grass depressions, and mounds that line the sculpted fairways. The property was designed with meandering lakes surrounding the golf course giving separation from the community and a magnificent Plantation Style Clubhouse making your visit at English Turn an unparalleled experience.

The Signature Course at English Turn was originally designed in 1988 for the New Orleans PGA Tour event, which was held at the facility until 2004 and in 2006 following Hurricane Katrina. The Inaugural event was the USF and G Classic in 1989 and the course proved to be a challenge for the PGA Tour with notoriously undulating greens, water in play on seventeen of the eighteen holes, and the signature fifteenth Island Green. In Addition, the 18th Hole had been ranked the hardest hole on tour many times during the tournament tenure.

DINING OPTIONS AT THE HOTEL

The Carousel Bar & Lounge

The famous Carousel Bar & Lounge in Hotel Monteleone is a long-time favorite New Orleans hotspot. The classic New Orleans hotel bar is the city’s only revolving bar. For decades, it has lured guests in to take a spin on the 25-seat, bright, circus-clad Merry-Go-Round. Recently, Vogue Living named our bar one of the Top 20 Bars in the World, due in equal parts to our whimsical revolving carousel and comprehensive list of cocktails. Vogue recommends our Sazerac, although our cocktail menu has plenty of other enticing options.

Today, the famous Carousel Bar & Lounge is frequented by New Orleans locals and visitors alike. The Carousel Bar overlooks famed Royal Street, where guests can enjoy the best people watching in the French Quarter. With its regular entertainment schedule of live New Orleans music and craft cocktail selection, this New Orleans hotel bar has become one of the most popular bars in the French Quarter. No visit to New Orleans would be complete without a ride on the Carousel Bar.

Criollo

Criollo is the Hotel Monteleone’s signature restaurant combining old world flavors with refined southern dining.  They specialize in creating seasonal dishes.  Reservations are highly recommended.
